Nature
The variety and beauty of the natural world has occupied artists
since man discovered he could paint in caves (or most likely,
draw in the dirt). Capturing nature in photographs is both limited
and enhanced by available technology. Telephoto lenses can compress
distance, and wide-angle lenses can include more information in
a frame than a human eye can focus on, but the limited sensitivity
of film and the inability to reproduce colors as the eye perceives
can disappoint. Still, most problems can be overcome, and the
variety of ways an individual object in nature can be photographed
are almost infinite.
